The Local Need

In the Daffodil Ministries community there is a significant need for survivors of domestic abuse to find housing. Many of the individuals who are released from short-term care facilities exit to homelessness or housing-insecure situations, like living in their car. Unfortunately, some survivors end up returning to their abuser because there is nowhere for them to go.

Often, people who find themselves in abusive relationships may have poor rental history, bad credit, or even a criminal history—side effects of domestic violence. Many landlords are not comfortable renting to tenants with this kind of background.
